Karate-Shotokan
Our instructor, Amos Mbenoun, started SHOTOKAN karate when he was eight years old in Douala, Cameroon, with La Federation Camerounaise Des Arts Martiaux et Disciples Assimilés, where he received his black belt and was champion of many National tournaments.  Amos has been teaching karate since 1994 at the Takahashi Martial Arts Center while continuing to train at the JKA Headquarters in Ottawa with Saeki-sensei. Amos is a 4th-degree black belt and winner of many African tournaments, Canadian JKA tournaments, plus some world Kobudo tournaments in kumite and kata. He is also a master of board breaking techniques (classes available as well).
