Artist recognized for promoting Japanese culture in Canada through ikebana, calligraphy, and sumi-e
Based in Ottawa, Ms. Nagasawa has dedicated her life to promoting Japanese culture through ikebana (flower arranging), calligraphy, and sumi-e (ink painting). Her work has built lasting cultural connections and strengthened the friendship between Canada and Japan.
The Ambassador’s Award recognizes her decades of contribution to the community and her commitment to sharing Japanese traditions with people of all ages in Ottawa.
